“As an architect, you design for the present, with an awareness of the past, for a future which is essentially unknown.”

– Norman Foster

Building artfully crafted homes - Each design, inside and out is a piece of artwork. We build with custom scribe joinery, live edge furniture, coral concrete countertops, and ancient stone foundations to create one-of-a-kind homes that remain connected to nature.

We at SOL Projex are going back to a time when “built to last” was the highest priority. Our structures are built using timber frame joinery. Timber frame homes are built efficiently and long-term maintenance is greatly reduced. The frame is a masterpiece in itself, often left exposed adding beauty and natural elements to the homes. The architecture of post and beam joinery has been shown to deliver centuries of reliable service. With the climate of Kauai, this is increasingly beneficial in building structures that will stand the test of time. In addition to the durability of timber frame, our breathable single-wall construction is designed for the subtropics of Kauai. This form of architecture eliminates the need for synthetic, artificial, imported, and highly toxic off-gassing, modern materials. These common and widely used materials have been proven for decades to create a breeding ground for black mold, leaving families vulnerable to the toxicity in their homes. Our consciously constructed single-wall designs are incredibly diverse, yet easily installed with our custom or modular tongue and groove panel wall system.

Rethinking our approach to building.
It’s time to take a look at why are current system is failing us, and find environmentally conscious solutions for the construction industry.

Building developments account for nearly 40 percent of global energy consumption. This is a profound opportunity to showcase economically resourceful construction. At SOL Projex, we are driven to move out of the linear model of ‘Take-Make-Waste’ innovating a new approach in earth-conscious building. General Construction causes both air and water pollution. Harmful chemicals used during construction can negatively impact both the workers and the environment. In research by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBS), the construction industry accounts for 40% of worldwide energy usage.
