SOL Projex is pushing the boundaries of sustainability, using minimal waste while offering designs that restore balance and harmony on earth.
Our focus begins with each breath, each step, and each choice, realizing the opportunity to make a change with solution-based intention in action. Our view of sustainability involves the implementation of utilizing earth’s natural and renewable resources, advanced ecological building designs, innovative education, research, and development.
Kauai is one of the most ecologically abundant bioregions on Earth…. Yet it currently imports more than 90% of its resources.
The importation of goods affects both air and water pollution, climate disturbances, and biodiversity, affecting both land and marine life, a huge environmental impact that we at SOL Projex find completely unnecessary with the abundance of resources available here on Kauai. In addition, international trade results in globalization, which results in greater inequality, increased corruption, reduction in sovereignty, diminishing of cultural systems, and degradation of the environment.
We need to utilize our resources carefully with less harm to the environment. We see and utilize the abundance of resources here and are passionate about flipping the statistics to 90% locally sourced materials. By doing so we greatly reduce shipping and storage emissions and energy use. Our projects also offer increased job opportunities and fair wages to our local community, increasing the economy on Kauai.
